Acting Exam

So you want to be an actor/actress?

There's no better place to start acting than Shooting Stars, whether you're six, sixteen or sixty everyone deserves the same opportunity!

Our acting classes are run by our drama teacher Nicole.

Within the last few years we have been developing the acting skills of people by teaching them improvisation, script writing, acting techniques and what the business is all about through the use of fun and exciting games.

Recently we have developed a new part to our drama classes, exams. These aren't just like any other exam. These exams are fun and engaging. They test the skills you have learned over the period of time with our drama teacher. What skills?

The first part of the exam will be an examined oral. This is where you will be given a piece two weeks prior to the exam and will be asked to learn it and recite it on the day of the exam, without help from the script. The student will be marked on their acting skills as well as their knowledge to recite the piece without hesitation.

The second part of the exam will be a unexamined oral. This is where a piece will be given to the student on the day of the exam. The student will never have seen the piece before and will be asked to read the script. They will be reviewed on how well they repeat the script and how fluently they do so.

The third and final part will be the improvisation part of the exam. The drama teacher, Nicole will describe a two person scene and the student will have to have an improvised conversation with Nicole for 1 minute. The student will be judged on their skill to communicate without breaking the scene and on their comedy.

The student will receive their very own certificate after passing the exam!

It is €20 euro to sit this exam.
