This is it!

Image
Welcome everyone to the last blog post! We have decided to stop posting blogs in regards the current situation. We would like to focus more of our time on the main aspects of our zoom calls and other possible methods for the class. We would like to take this moment to thank everyone for supporting our media pages by liking, sharing and commenting. Our constant posting on Facebook will continue as it is our main social media platform. We hope this blog channel will be used again in the near future as another one of our main social media branches. Any new members are always welcome, just contact us on our Facebook page @Shooting Stars Athy Stageschool for further details or check our previous blog posts for prices, times and links! Thanks so much for everyone who have helped us get this far in our journey! Stay safe!

Zoom classes!

Image
So as most of you are aware, from our previous posts we have discussed how classes will be for the next few weeks. Since we cant meet in person we will be continuing with our casual zoom classes. How are they going so far you might ask? We have smoothly maintained three of our singing, dancing and acting classes for the last few weeks and can guarantee a continuance in maintaining our classes to a high standard. The team is working hard to keep our students happy. Our dance teacher is constantly coming up with new dancing techniques, our singing teacher has a list of songs waiting to be sung and our drama teacher is writing script after script. Together they are coming up with a wonderful sing-along script with many dance numbers to be performed on stage when we can finally meet again. Until then though, we will keep creating our own zoom sing-alongs and posting them on Facebook. Check out some of our videos which have been posted on our Facebook @Shooting Stars Athy Stageschool

Help us

Image
Hey everyone! We are asking everyone to answer a short number of questions (only 3) which will help us get our classes back up and running sooner than we might think! We want our classes to start back up just as much as you do which is why were asking everyone to share the link at the bottom of the page! We want adults who will answer honestly! The first question relates to whether or not you feel your child has enough safety measures in place. We feel at Shooting Stars, safety is the main priority in these times and we can insure total safety and following of guidelines during classes! Our second question relates to the mental health of your child with dance classes being postponed. If you feel your child has been mentally effected please let us know! This will help us drastically in the fight to continue dance classes. We only want the best for all of our students. Our final question relates to you. Do you, as a parent feel safe sending your child to school during a level 3/4 lo...

Class update

Image
Hey everyone! We here at Shooting Stars hope everyone is keeping well! Unfortunately we have some bad news... As everyone is aware the lockdown restrictions will lift from a level 5 to level 3 on the 1st of December. We were hoping the government would allow our fabulous students to come back to us but this is not the case. Our classes will have to continue online. Hopefully we will be able to see each other in person again in the new year and make the most of 2021 together. We will continue to argue the point that stage schools are an important part of society and with your help we will be back up and running in no time. Here is the guidelines given by the government: Sports Training Outdoors: Non contact training only in pods of up to 15 (for example: golf, tennis, horse riding, hunting, gaelic games, soccer and outdoor basketball.) There is an exemption for professional/elite/senior inner-county sports. Indoors: Individual training only. No training or dance classes (for example: no...

Preforming Arts Educators of Ireland

The Preforming Arts Educators of Ireland have launched a new #Whataboutus campaign and it is amazing! They are supporting Jigsaw , the national center for youth mental health. Why not help them and support Jigsaw too by visiting Jigsaw.ie. There is a fundraising page set up by PAEI and the link is at the end of this blog channel if you want to donate. As we said in the last blog, this year is all about giving!  If you want to view this amazing video click the link below! https://fb.watch/23NqcWUQ4N/ Here are some words from the PAEI themselves: The pandemic has highlighted the adverse effect on our students mental health, this was evident in the many 100s of letters we received from students nationwide. Please share from PAEI's social media pages using the following hashtags when posting the shared video from PAEI: #Whataboutus #singing #dancing #music #acting #drama #Jigsaw #Mentalawareness #Clarity4creativekids

Fundraising

This is the time of year where we give rather than take. It is especially important in these hard times but a cure is in sight! In June 2020 I started running. This was for the TriAthy.  Then in October I done a 10km run for the Join Our Boys charity.  I have now decided to do the twelve days of Christmas where you run a minimum of 1km over 12 days. We normally do a danceathon for Chare's Wish Foundation charity but due to the current circumstances that isn't a possible option at the moment. Hopefully we will be able to do our danceathon soon and raise even more money for this great charity. Our goal is 500 euro and we are already more than halfway there @€373. Keep up the great work!!! I'd love you to help by donating a little over on our facebook page @Shooting Stars Athy stageschool. Any donation big or small is appreciated by everyone here! Wishes don't stop during the outbreak and neither do we here at Shooting Stars Athy Stageschool.
